Sobey was established in 1997 and is headquartered in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.
 
Sobey focuses on the research and application of UHD video technology and digital technology. It is a professional audio-visual product and digital solution provider, mainly covering the fields of broadcast, media, government, enterprises, education and etc.
 
Sobey has achieved numerous technical achievements in the fields of UHD technology and digitalization, and has won numerous national, provincial and ministerial awards. Up to now, Sobey has 192 invention patents and 576 computer software copyrights.

​Sobey has won the "First Prize of the China National Science and Technology Progress Award", the "International Association of Broadcasting (IABM) Peter Wayne Award", the "First Prize of the WangXuan News Science and Technology Award" and multiple first-class ministerial awards. Sobey has led or participated in the formulation of multiple industry standards, and is the leader of the "China National Innovation Center For UHD Video Technology ", and also "China National Culture and Technology Integration Demonstration Base".
